Neal Doty
Neal Doty was born in 1941 in Glendale, California. He studied at Art Center College of Design (Los Angeles, 1967), Los Angeles City College (AA Degree, Fine Art, 1971) and California State University at Northridge (BA Degree, Fine Art, 1973). Doty served for the US Forces during the Vietnam war. Doty was awarded 1st Place in the 1976 Larchmont Art Exhibit in Los Angeles and 1977, worked as a commissioned artist with Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Doty died in his home in Palm Desert on Saturday, October 1, 2016 with his family by his side. Doty's works have appeared at Art Expo New York in New York City, the Washington Art Fair in Washington, D.C. and the Basel Art Fair in Basel, Switzerland.

Enrique (Kico) Govantes was born in Havana, Cuba in 1957 surrounded by art. His grandfather was the Minister of Public Works, his father an architect. April 28, 2005) that although they did not support the Batista regime, the Govantes were exiled from Castro’s Cuba with only the art they could carry in their suitcases. Usually they were signed or initialed in the image -- on the plate, as this one is. As a group they explored abstraction in the 1930s, while maintaining their individual styles. The plan was to make an edition of 500 portfolios although it seems highly unlikely that this was accomplished. The Whitney Museum of American Art has a set.
