About the Item

Image dimensions: 35x50 cm. Blue composition is a colored screen print on Fabriano watermarked paper, realized in 1975 by the Italian artist, Wladimiro Tulli, published by La Nuova Foglio, a publishing house of Macerata. Hand-signed and numbered in pencil on lower margin. Edition of 99 prints. Wladimiro Tulli (Macerata, 1922 - 2003) The Italian painter, author of works belonging to the second Futurism and Abstract art. began his activity around 1938: he was initially fascinated by his fellow citizen Ivo Pannaggi and by other futurists of the time, Filippo Tommaso Marinetti above all, while after the war he approached abstract art, establishing contacts and relationships with the major abstractionists of the moment like Alberto Burri. In 1953 he joined the "Numero" group in Florence and thanks to it he began to travel the world and to exhibit some of his works in great museums until he became an active member of the "Eclats" group in Paris; in 1962 together with other artists he is in the "Levante" group of Macerata. He has made frescoes, murals, murals, graffiti and decorations in various cities, including his native Macerata, Bologna, San Benedetto del Tronto, Ascoli Piceno, Teramo and Rimini.

Jimmy Ernst  Plate II - 1970 Print - Screen Print on Heavy Paper 28'' x 37'' inches Edition: Signed in pencil and numbered 24/125 Jimmy Ernst’s artwork was influenced by a number of powerful talents and vital currents in the art of his time. Son of Max Ernst, Jimmy drew upon the biomorphic and surreal compositions of his father, as well as Arp, Klee, André Breton, and Lyonel Feininger. His mature oil paintings, which emerged in the 1950s and 1960s, reflect the Atomic Age aesthetic of the period. Often, they resemble crystals or webs; many look like vast labyrinths and are interpreted as symbols of the unconscious mind. Ernst was always interested in spirituality and drew inspiration from indigenous American art...
