Edgar DEGAS (after) Whorehouse Scene : A Group of Prostitutes Original etching and aquatint On Rives vellum 25 x 32 cm (c. 10 x 13 inch) In the early 1920s, Ambroise Vollard (the great art seller, editor of Picasso (Suite Vollard), Cezanne, Renoir or Georges Rouault) bought from the Estate of Degas the monotypes engraved by Degas (c. 1880) to publish them in two portfolios. The plates were engraved by Maurice Potin and finally published in 1934 / 38. This plate comes from the archives of Maurice Potin. Excellent condition
