The artwork represents a marriage scenery in nature in the presence of other guests.
The artist, Charles-Melchior Descourtis (1753-1820) harmonized the image with a skillfully use of lighting giving different layers and perspective to the scene. the presence of a mother with her child as the only person in the ceremony who is not looking at the bride and husband would give different interpretations to the spectator which would add value to this art-work.
