This striking etching depicts Jacobite troupes gathering in the courtyard of Holyrood House ahead of the Battle of Culloden in 1745. The palace played a significant part in Bonnie prince Charlie's attempt to restore his family's line to the British throne, becoming centre of his court. Signed and dated to the lower right. Well presented in a glazed ridged black frame with a gilt slip. On paper.
