From the series: "Supplements of the Complete Works of Chikamatsu Manzaemon"
"Supplements" was published around 1923 and consisted of 18 prints, each designed by a different and well-established artist of the time. Each design represents a character from one of the plays written by Chikamatsu (1653-1725)
All the prints were carved by Yamagishi Kazue and printed by Nishimura Kumakichi.
