Title: The Heroine Umekawa in "Meido no Kiyaku" Medium: Color woodcut with mica background, silver metallic pigment, and "gofun" for the snow effect Date Of Execution: 1923 Dimensions: Sheet: 17 3/4 x 11 3/8"; Image: 10 3/4 x 9 1/4" Signature: Signed: Tsunetomi upper right of image (see photo) References And Exhibitions: From the series: "Supplements of the Complete Works of Chikamatsu Manzaemon" "Supplements" was published around 1923 and consisted of 18 prints, each designed by a different and well-established artist of the time. Each design represents a character from one of the plays written by Chikamatsu (1653-1725) All the prints were carved by Yamagishi Kazue and printed by Nishimura Kumakichi.
