Portrait is an original print realized in 1964 by the French artist and drawer Michel Ciry (1919-2018).
Original etching on Ivory paper.
Hand-signed and dated by the artist on the lower right corner: Michel Ciry 64.
In excellent conditions: as good as new.
Interesting etching depicting two female portraits in profile. One is dressed in white and has black eyes while the other on the left is dressed in black and has light eyes. In this way there is a strong contrast between the two figures and the background is characterized by black lines on a smoky gray color.
Michel Ciry (1919-2018). He is a French painter, engraver, writer and composer. A student at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris from 1934 to 1937, Michel Ciry engraved his first copper in 1935 and started at the exhibition "Artistes de ce Temps" at the Petit Palais in 1938. In addition to his personal engraved work, he produced numerous illustrations for bibliophile editions. He created with his friends the international Michel-Ciry engraving prize, which rewards professional and amateur talented engravers.

Michel Ciry
Michel Ciry was a French painter, engraver, writer and composer. He was a student at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris from 1934–37.
