About the Item
The Place St. Andre des Arts, on the Left Bank in Paris, would have been a natural environment for Bendiner. It was the Latin Quarter, just south of the Louvre and near everything important to him. This is one of the artist's biggest lithographs and certainly among the biggest French prints. It's also a reminder that Haussmann wanted all Parisian buildings to be the same height.
From a proposed edition of 30. Signed and titled in ink and numbered in pencil. With old artist's address stamp lower right.
