About the Item
Fabulous cubist wood cut of a Mexican village. It is titled tropical Mexico and is by the artist Jacob Heller. There is not much biographical information on him except that he was born in America and he retired to Mexico. He was obviously a very talented artist working in the printmaking technique of woodcut. The print itself measures approximately 13 1/4 inches high by 9 3/4 inches wide. The frame measures 20 inches high by 16 inches wide. It is printed on brown chine colle paper. It is pencil signed, and pencil titled. The print is not toned or stained. That is the color of the paper. It is in an unknown addition, but I feel that it was a very small addition because I cannot find another one like it.
