About the Item
This reproduction poster features a painting by Mark Rothko, originally created in 1952. Horizontally oriented, the artwork contrasts a dark red band over a largely green area at the bottom. The poster was produced for The Irascibles: Painters Against the Museum show at Fundación Juan March in Madrid. This exhibition highlighted the influential group of artists, including Rothko, who protested against the conservative policies of the Museum of Modern Art in the 1950s.
