Description:
This artwork presents a delicate and evocative image that utilizes minimalism to its utmost potential. The composition captures a solitary, contemplative figure sitting in a crouched position, drawn with swift, fluid brushstrokes that convey both motion and emotion. The figure is depicted with a palette of predominantly warm yellows, signifying warmth and perhaps introspection, contrasted by selective highlights of turquoise and red that add depth and vibrancy. The use of black in the hair provides a grounding element, anchoring the otherwise ethereal quality of the painting. One of the unique aspects of this piece is the artist’s mastery of negative space. The ample, untouched background directs all focus to the figure, amplifying its emotional resonance. This creative decision not only emphasizes the solitude and the introspective mood of the subject but also propels the viewer to contemplate the simplicity and purity of the form. The loose, almost abstract approach to the human form in this artwork highlights the fluidity and versatility of watercolor as a medium. There is an intentional ambiguity in the details, leaving the figure’s identity and story open to the viewer’s interpretation. This openness is a tribute to the universal nature of the human experience, encapsulated in a few well-placed strokes. Overall, this watercolor painting stands out for its elegant simplicity, emotive use of color, and masterful handling of negative space. It invites the viewer into a quiet moment of contemplation, resonating with subtlety and profound beauty.

Aureum has a background in art and interior design. Her art is characterised by a wide range of styles. Surrealism, realism and abstraction are merged in a passionate art dance. Embracing, discovering and penetrating each other, they take on new forms and shades in every new painting. The artist reflects on the relationship between space and forms, where colour is an emotional response to the way they intersect.
About the artist:
Anastasia is an internationally renowned visual artist. To date, she has been exhibiting internationally (New York, Boston,Chicago, Mexico, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Venice, Switzerland, Oxford, Cambridge, Rome, Milan and other stunning locations) in galleries, museums and unusual contests. She is the winner of many national and international art awards. Anastasia’s works are present in the collections of the Vatican Museums in Rome, in the International Museum of Art in Tolentino, the National Museum of Sacred Art in Nonantola, in the Nina Lobanova — Rostovskaya's collection in London, Marchesi Sacchetti's collection in Rome and many other private collections.
Anastasia's works are a personal interiorization that matches the search for a deeper meaning, beyond visible reality. Her”s is a desire to go beyond the pure representation of reality, a need to tell something that goes beyond the external aspect, that something that speaks of the inner part of those who are portrayed. Aureum responds to an ancestral and primary need, namely the desire to stop a memory and make it materially eternal. The artist’s attention is directed towards the inner life of the subject, where shapes and colors become the way of expressing more than physicality: portraits that excite the observer, who manages to enter into the representation of emotions but also into the inner essence of people. The faces are enriched with subtle and beautifully refined expressions that reveal an emotional world overflowing with emotions and dreams.
