Vladimir Velickovic was born in 1935 in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade. Very soon Velickovic got intrested in painting, and after his graduation the creative activity as an artist gradually prevailed. Velickovic obtained the prize of the ”Biennale des Jeunes” in Paris in 1965, and the following year he moved to Paris, where he still living and working. Velickovic has held an important part in the development of the ”Nouvelle Figuration”. He has exhibited his works in a great number of European countries as well as in the U.S.A., and one can see his images in many museums. Velickovic is also teaching as Professor of painting at the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

He died in Paris on Sunday, 5 September 2010 aged 88 years.
Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo was born in 1922 in Liège, Belgium, to Dutch parents. After leaving school, he studied drawing at the Academy of Arts in Amsterdam from 1940 to 1943. As a painter, however, he was an autodidact.
His first exhibition was in 1946 in Groningen in the Netherlands, together with artists from the Dutch experimental group, Reflex.
Corneille first visited Paris in 1946 and felt immediately at home in the art metropolis. Together with Karel Appel, Asger Jorn, Dotremont and Constant, he founded the COBRA group in Paris 1948. Many other artists, poets and architects later joined the group, including the Swedish artists C-O Hultén, Max Walter Svanberg and Anders...
