Pablo Picasso exhibition poster - Dora Maar - print of the Museo Del Arte Contemporaneo de Caracas Rare Picasso lithographic exhibition poster depicting "Buste de Femme" (Dora Maar) 1941 Picasso (1881-1973), was a Spanish painter, draughtsman, and sculptor. He is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles embodied in his work. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937), his portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War. Picasso demonstrated uncanny artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence; during the first decade of the twentieth century his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought him universal renown immense fortunes throughout his life, making him the best-known figure in twentieth century prints. On August 30, 1973, the Simón Bolívar Center created the Caracas Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation to form it as the cultural space of the new Parque Central Housing Complex. It begins its activity on February 20, 1974 with two sculptures by the Venezuelan master Jesús Soto and a collection by renowned artists Adami, Pavlos, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Richard Smith, Marisol Escobar, Giangiacomo Spadari, Emilio Tadini, Lucio del Pezzo and Hervé Télémaque, among others. The MAC collection is one of the most important of modern art in Latin America, with representation of all the plastic modalities, among which masterpieces such as Joan Miró's ski lesson , Portrait of Dora Maar by Pablo Picasso and The Night Carnival stand out.Marc Chagall; It also has emblematic works by Venezuelan and foreign artists. The MAC was the first Venezuelan museum to offer a library service specialized in art, a formal plastic training space for children and adults, a special education department for the blind and a multimedia center for the arts.
