(after) Andy Warhol
Mick Jagger VII - Andy Warhol, Announcement card, Rolling Stones, Musician, Pop

1975

About the Item

Mick Jagger VII - After Andy Warhol. In this print, intense shades of black, maroon, gold and deep pink frame Jagger’s features and the placement of the line drawing creates a three-dimensional effect, emphasizing the magnitude of Jagger’s character. Mick Jagger is an iconic rock legend who was the frontman and one of the founders who sang lead in the British Rock and Roll Band, The Rolling Stones. Framed in black with black mount board, this postcard-sized print is from a set of ten announcement cards published to advertise Warhol's then soon-to-be-released portfolio of ten large silkscreen prints of Mick Jagger in 1975. The Mick Jagger series created a powerful statement about the commercialisation of celebrity. Published by Castelli Graphics, NY. Warhol's portraits of Mick Jagger and other icons have become some of the most collectable art in modern history. This is a vintage announcement card which is in excellent condition. The piece is unsigned and is sold framed in a simple frame.
