The competition was organized by the newspaper „Wyborcza” and Kulczyk Investments. In style of works she refer to nature, assuming biomorphic shapes . Her work is also in the permanent collection of the National Museum in Poland.
"Plant" ceramics is an analysis of the aesthetic and biological structure of a plant of a given species. I found the principles of form and rhythm in the study of natural objects such as plants, pebbles, rocks, bones, trees... In nature there is an infinite variety of shapes and rhythms... from which the sculptor can expand his experience of knowledge of form and create anew your own unique visual language. My transformation process, which consisted of many stages, often did not follow a linear pattern, it evolved from a narrative, antique, figurative to an abstract form. Creating from the study of nature proceeds through analysis of the environment around us. In my works, one small piece of plasticine squeezed between sculptures, a piece neglected on the floor or an element of forgotten plaster can inspire a series of sketches, or be incorporated into a sculpture. From there the ideas evolved. I recorded in detail the variety of natural forms and raw materials that I found in the studio, such as cuttings, scraps, sometimes a rotten piece of bread with mold growing on it, or spiders that like to live in sculptures. My instinct told me to respect the physical and aesthetic properties of every material, both living and biological. A bunch of cauliflower, unusual plants with geometric forms, such as: Haworthia limifolia taught me how to build form in sculpture. This huge database of diversity of natural forms prompted me to create a completely new plant, non-existent in nature, coming from my imagination. By using natural objects, I allow nature to suggest ideas and drive their translation into sculptural forms. The work "Plant" was created as part of the Sculpture Symposium held at the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. The symposium was devoted to the topic of "The Forces of Nature" and the famous thought of Heraclitus: "Everything flows, nothing stands still"
