About the Item

Michael Cozza is a glass artist living and working in Seattle, Washington. Cozza’s work focuses on using traditional Venetian techniques combined with a contemporary design aesthetic. He is particularly driven by process, achieving intricacy with lines and patterns as he continues his lifelong journey exploring the material. Cozza strives to capture this precision through nature-inspired forms and is fascinated by the way glass interacts with light. Cozza’s Pink & Blue Pillar is a stunning example of the moiré pattern at work in glass. The moiré pattern is an optical illusion whereby opaque line patterns with transparent gaps are overlaid with similar patterns. The artist achieves this through blown glass.
