She dedicated her work to the beauty of goddesses, the romance of heroism, and the vitality of animal life, on scales ranging from medals to monumental public art. Although Huntington herself is forgotten today, her works still grace many of New York's outdoor spaces: Central Park, Riverside Park, the Bronx Zoo, the Hall of Fame for Great Americans on the grounds of Bronx Community College, and the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University, Palisades. They are prominently displayed in the permanent collections of many of the city's great institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Academy of Design, New-York Historical Society, the Hispanic Society of America, Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Columbia University, and many others. At a time when very few women were successful sculptors, Hyatt developed a prolific career. She exhibited often, traveled, received critical acclaim at home and abroad, won awards and commissions, and positioned her work in parks and institutions. In the midst of this success, in 1923, she wed the great American philanthropist Archer Milton Huntington.
