About the Item
A handmade olla by master potter Efren Quezada from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico. This ceramic olla is made with ancient traditions from the village of Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. The clay is mined from the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range, hand-coiled and painted with natural dye paint. Efren has been exposed to the subtleties of the ceramic process at his young age when he learned from his father Juan Quezada, the Master of pottery in Mata Ortiz.
