About the Item

This is an outstanding bronze statue of Eutrope Bouret, signed on the base, by the very well-known French artist Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906). French antique bronze sculpture by Eutrope Bouret (1833 Paris - 1906) The bronze is available in several finishes. This gold-plated version is available as a luxury model. Eutrope Bouret (1833-1906) was a prominent French sculptor of the 19th century. Born in Paris on April 16, 1833, Bouret was a student of Louis Buhot. He regularly exhibited his works at the prestigious Salon in Paris, from 1875 to 1903, gaining recognition for his detailed and expressive pieces. Bouret worked with a variety of conventional materials, including marble, plaster, terracotta, and bronze. His sculptures often depicted classical themes, such as allegories of love, spring, and the arts, but he also showed a keen interest in medieval subjects, imbued with a romantic sensibility. One of his notable works is the bronze bust of Alexis Bouvier, which adorned the novelist's tomb in the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Other well-known pieces include "Romeo and Juliet" statues, "Psyché au tribunal de Vénus," "Figaro," and "Amour Chanteur" (Singing Cupid). Many of his works, particularly those in bronze, can be found in public collections and have been sold at various auctions. Eutrope Bouret passed away in Paris on September 30, 1906. The Meaux Museum has a work entitled “The Reader.” Dokumentation : Les bronzes du XIXe, Pierre KJELLBERG Berman Bronzes
