About the Item

This high-impact neon sculpture creates a mellow atmosphere as a result of the expertise of a glass blower and a neon technician. Jan Henderikse, Nul Contemporary, 21st Century, Sculpture, Limited Edition, Neon Light Neon Edition of 6 150 x 110 cm (59.1 x 43.3 in.) Signed numbered and dated, accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity In mint condition PLEASE NOTE: Images of edition number are example references only. The seller can only provide the specific edition number to buyers at the actual point of sale. Please message the seller to request this information at the point of purchase. Jan Henderikse is an eclectic artist, involved in assemplages, installations and limited editions. The originality of his works can be found in his method: he uses whatever materials, like Industrial products and discarded materials, and produces serial composition that depicts reality avoiding any personal handwriting or personal touch. Similar to the manufactory process within factories, his art emphasizes impersonality. Art is more an idea than an object, I believe." -Jan Henderiske This original sculpture, Nul, is a white neon tube sculpture. To realize this sculpture, Henderikse wrote on a sheet of paper several times the words "Nul" and "NUL", the translation of ZERO in Dutch. Through a glass blower and neon technician, he translated then his design in a high-impact sculpture. JAN HENDERISKE Jan Henderikse (Delft, 1937) is an eclectic artist. He began his career as an informal painter. In 1960 he co-founded together with Armando, Jan Schoonhoven and Henk Peeters the Dutch Zero group and began experimenting with assemblages. Later in the mid-1970s he started to be involved in film-making, limited editions and photo sequences and installations. Art is more an idea than an object, I believe." - Jan Henderiske The originality of his works can be found in his method: he uses whatever materials, like Industrial products and discarded materials, and produces serial composition that depicts reality avoiding any personal handwriting or personal touch. Similar to the manufactory process within factories, his art emphasizes impersonality.

Recessed Discussion Stream - Contemporary, 21st Century, Sculpture, Sculpture
By Liam Gillick
Located in Zug, CH
Liam Gillick, Recessed Discussion Stream Plexiglas and MDF Edition of 30 12 x 50.1 x 20 cm (4.7 x 19.7 x 7.9 in) Signed and numbered on Certificate of Authenticity In mint condition, as acquired from the publisher PLEASE NOTE: Edition numbers could vary from the one shown in the pictures. The pictures shown are only for illustrative reasons, the piece is offered unframed. Gillick’s work exposes the dysfunctional aspects of a modernist legacy in terms of abstraction and architecture when framed within a globalized, neo-liberal consensus. His work extends into structural rethinking of the exhibition as a form. He deploys multiple forms to expose the new ideological control systems that emerged at the beginning of the 1990s. "By making the abstract concrete, art no longer retains any abstract quality, it merely announces a constant striving for a state of abstraction and in turn produces more abstraction to pursue." -Liam Gillick Gillick’s work has had a profound impact on a contemporary understanding of how art and architecture influence, and are themselves influenced by, interpersonal communication and interactions in the public sphere. This colorful Plexiglas...
