About the Item

JAVIER CALLEJA - Pop Top' Planter Pot (Pink Eyes) Date of creation: 2021 Medium: Ceramic, crystal Edition: 100 Size: 17 x 21 x 18 cm Condition: In perfect conditions, brand new Condition: In mint condition, brand new and never framed The Pot Pop Top Planter Pot (Pink Eyes) is a limited-edition artwork released in 2021 by Spanish artist Javier Calleja, in collaboration with Case Studyo, an art and design studio based in Ghent, Belgium. Case Studyo specializes in producing limited-edition pieces in collaboration with contemporary artists, merging art with functionality. This piece reflects Calleja’s distinctive style, featuring childlike figures with large, expressive eyes that convey both innocence and subtle irony. The planter’s design stands out for its simple yet striking form, crafted from white ceramic with a clean, minimalist finish. Its pink glass eyes are the most defining feature, adding depth and character to the piece. The artwork is part of the "POT POP TOP" series, a collection of planters and vases designed by Calleja with variations in eye colors and other details. This series illustrates how the artist blurs the lines between sculpture, design, and functional art, creating objects that can be appreciated both in galleries and private spaces. The Pot Pop Top Planter Pot (Pink Eyes) was produced in a very limited edition of 100 pieces, making it highly sought after by collectors of contemporary art. Its exclusivity, combined with Calleja’s growing recognition, has increased its value in the secondary market, solidifying it as one of the most iconic creations within his planter series. Beyond its decorative function, this piece encapsulates Calleja’s playful yet conceptual approach, which continues to captivate the art world. ABOUT THE ARTIST This Spanish artist, born in Malaga in 1971, has a long career on his back. Almost 30 years creating that settled him as the sought after artist he is today in 2017. After many exhibitions in his native country, Europe or US, showing his works in museums galleries and art fairs around the globe, the greater success came from Aisho Nanzuka Gallery in Hong Kong in 2017. “Hi” was how he entitled this solo exhibition and a presentation that was really well received by the Asian public. So well received that Calleja sold every artwork presented there and even got a waiting list of collectors to purchase his future work. A year after, the story repeats itself and the same huge success happens in Tokyo also with Aisho Nanzuka. And that was just the beginning. Even he is easily tagged by many who say Calleja’s figures are inspired in anime or kawaii, that’s something that is not. Calleja claims his Mediterranean roots, the ones that got him painting as a kid inspired by Spanish cartoon artist Francisco Ibañez. His art is based in portraits of disproportionated figures of big eyes and always using bright colors with minimal but solid strokes. Acid sentences are also a must that twist the images’ naive intention and definitely gives a second thought. Even though his early works were created in a smaller scale, his current works are developed in large canvases and a few meters tall sculptures. Following his curiosity about different medias and techniques, Javier Calleja proves he is a tough working multidisciplinary artist. His studio, located where he was born, is much bigger today and has the best staff to help the artist fulfill this huge new projects. Javier Calleja just can’t stop now. His schedule is filled with new projects, editions, exhibitions and collaborations. No wonder he will give us, at least, another 30 years of career.

Contemporary Cuorecarpenito Pink Ceramic Vase Bubble Family Collection
By CuoreCarpenito
Located in Reggio Emilia, IT
Lovers In Pink, a renowned artwork by Marc Chagall, serves as the inspiration for this polished ceramic vase from the Bubble Family Collection. Showcasing arched, circular shapes, the decorative elements enriching the vase's cylindrical body contribute to its organic dynamism, which adds an effortless touch of glamour to contemporary interior. without a doubt for me "the lovers" is my favorite vase not to say that it is the perfect vase. I almost have a veneration for this vase and when I build it a special mood always assails me. It is all the details that make it so important, there are two kissing figures, the color is elegant pink with something antique...
