Leroy Jackson
Wood Carving of Seminole Indian Chief and Wife

1992

About the Item

Leroy Jackson is a very well known World War II veteran artist from Tampa, FL and Louisiana. He specializes in all different types of wood carvings, from a more detailed nature carving, to many figurative designs. He is said to use a mallet and chisel to make his designs, and in many of his bust carvings, he preferred to carve with the root in the ground until the final touches. This African American artist depicted people from all areas of America, many military and ethnic figures, including our carvings of the Seminole Chief and his wife. The carving of the wife is signed and dated! We are selling the pair together, and they are in excellent condition and are an amazing accent piece for anywhere you please!
