There is a metaphorical interplay between the natural imagery international artist, Jennyfer Stratman, uses and its multiple meanings. While the human figure features strongly, it is the essence of the body that is important to her, not the representation. Particularly, the artist imagines trees and branches as a figurative link between the natural environment and our physical presence. The implied internal landscape of the body can also be reflected in how our surroundings from birth affect our sense of identity. By exploring landscapes of the body and mind, she also hopes to comment on the larger picture of our impact on the natural world. This detailed bronze and enamel sculpture is meant to be installed as a wall hanging that sits 2 inches away from the wall. This sculpture measures 11 inches high and 11 inches wide. Today she is a full-time established artist with studios operating in Phoenix, Arizona and Melbourne, Australia. Her time is divided between the two countries with each location informing and influencing the creative process. Angelo Canevari’s Bucranium is a 34 x 19 inch mix media surrealist sculpture. It is made of metal, resin, green automotive paint, and cardboard. It is a surrealist interpretation of the carved decoration, representing ox-skulls, commonly used in Classical architecture for the friezes of Doric temples. The same motif was also later used on Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical buildings. Canevari's contemporary interpretation is evident in the medium he chose to shape this artwork and yet it maintains the same commanding and monumental presence of the classical monuments that have inspired it.. "Saint Vitus Architeuthis Manalishi with the Seven Tentacle Crown" by Hunter Stabler is an original ink and graphite on hand-cut paper layered piece mounted to plexiglass. The piece ships in the pictured wood frame and measures 44"h x 44"w. Hunter Stabler was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and was raised in upstate South Carolina. He received a BFA in painting from The Maryland Institute, College of Art and an MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing an MFA in Digital Art at Louisiana State University.
