Mireia Serra creates sensuous bronze and iron sculptures showing the beauty of snapshots caught in life which are full of emotions and feelings along the life journey. Her metal artworks capture the beauty of moments: A young lady challenged by the adventure of a new trip, a young man pondering about his dreams, a lost girl thinking about different options to know more about herself…Mireia vividly demonstrates how a piece of fine art sculpture could incorporate into our daily life, linking us with art that inspires and triggers us to contemplate life and relationship. Serra describes her artistic vision as “Figurative sculptures depicting contemporary everyday scenes. Reflect my inner world thus expressing moods and desires, feelings, joys and concerns stemming from my relationship with the world".

Born in Barcelona in 1973, Mireia Serra's lifelong passion for sculpting was temporarily diverted by her parents' persuasion to pursue a career in fashion design. However, in 1998, she abandoned a lucrative role as a lingerie designer to follow her artistic calling and seek true fulfillment within the realm of fine arts. It was a transformative decision, allowing her to rediscover her true purpose and embark on a creative odyssey that continues to unfold to this day. In some of her present sculptures, the presence of elements from the fashion world such as cameras, texture, and detailed finishing of the clothes, and shoes are apparent.
She graduated in 2002 from the Llotja School of Arts in Barcelona (the same school that took under its wing Antoni Gaudí, Pablo Picasso, and Joan Miró), specializing in iron and bronze. Later she took an advanced sculpture portrait course taught by sculptor Jorge Egea at MEAM (Museo European d'Art Modern) in order to master her technique.
Working as a full-time sculptor since 2003, Serra started to exhibit with galleries throughout Spain and landed her first solo shows and her first international art fair in Madrid in 2013. Since 2016 Mireia Serra has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs in Germany, Austria, France, Luxembourg, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, and Hong Kong.

Mireia Serra
Abandoning her well-paying fashion career to pursue sculpture was undoubtedly a courageous and challenging decision for artist Mireia Serra in 1998.
The Barcelona-born Serra dreamt of making art at a young age but faced pressures from her family to choose a more traditionally stable career path. She completed her studies in fashion design in the mid-1990s and went on to work in lingerie, managing the Intima Cherry, Gemma and Silhouette labels.
Serra subsequently pivoted toward art and began to study sculpture, graduating in 2002 from the Llotja School of Arts. There, where Pablo Picasso and Antoni Gaudí had taken classes before her, Serra specialized in iron and bronze work. Later she expanded upon her technical training with advanced portrait sculpture studies under Jorge Egea at the European Museum of Modern Art.
Serra’s withdrawal from the fashion world was not a complete departure, as she often finds ways to integrate into her figurative sculptures compelling allusions to the work that characterized her prior career. She creates slender human forms perched atop globes or sprawled out on shelves, each of them clad in tasteful albeit monochrome apparel. Their ensembles get meticulous attention — note how the ends of slim-cut pant legs sit on the tops of detailed sneakers or the main compartment of a contemporary backpack is given precise texture as if its exterior is made of quilted lambskin leather.
The 2013 International Art Fair in Madrid was the first solo show for Serra, and she has had multiple exhibitions at art fairs and galleries all over Europe since then. She has been represented by Artspace Warehouse since 2017.

There is a metaphorical interplay between the natural imagery international artist, Jennyfer Stratman, uses and its multiple meanings. While the human figure features strongly, it is the essence of the body that is important to her, not the representation. Particularly, the artist imagines trees and branches as a figurative link between the natural environment and our physical presence. The implied internal landscape of the body can also be reflected in how our surroundings from birth affect our sense of identity. By exploring landscapes of the body and mind, she also hopes to comment on the larger picture of our impact on the natural world.
This original sculpture consists of 10 individual pieces of varying sizes. It is meant to be installed as a wall hanging that sits 2 inches away from the wall. As displayed, this sculpture measures 49 inches tall by 36 inches wide. It is signed by Stratman on the back. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Stratman grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1992 she commenced her studies at Arizona State University majoring in visual arts and art education. Stratman entered academia as a ceramicist. With each passing semester, the scale of her creations expanded and the material limitations of working with clay ultimately led her to the university foundry. This opened a door into another world of creative possibilities, profoundly changing her artistic direction. She replaced fired clay with larger-scale bronze, steel, and mixed media sculptures yet retained a delicacy, intimacy, and intricacy imbued from the ceramic process.
Today she is a full-time established artist with studios operating in Phoenix, Arizona and Melbourne, Australia. Her time is divided between the two countries with each location informing and influencing the creative process. She has exhibited in 31 solo exhibitions and over 100 group exhibitions nationally and internationally. Her indoor and outdoor sculptures are held in public and private collections in countries including the United States, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Israel, England, and Europe.

Ilana Goor is an individualistic, autodidactic, intuitive and multifaceted artist. As an artist who knows no boundaries and whose art transcends any conventions, her creations are a blend of vitality and obsession, functional simplicity alongside expressive complexity bordering on surrealism. Her sources of inspiration are neither time nor place-dependent. They create a personal statement, a journey replete with meaning and they succeed in touching and moving people the world over.
Goor was born in Tiberias to an educated and distinguished family of highly respected doctors and artists. She never studied art or design in any formal setting. She developed her artistic techniques on her own from an early age, when she used various parts to create small statues. She is considered to be an international multidisciplinary artist. Her works encompass sculptures, furniture, judaica, lighting fixtures, jewelry and fashion items which are displayed in well known galleries worldwide and are distinguished by their powerful, dominant presence.
She first came to the United States in her 20s and captured the hearts of the locals with her large-buckle belts for men which paved her artistic path in North America. Since then Ilana Goor was requested to install statues in major public locations and exhibited her works in museums throughout Europe, America, Japan and Israel. Ilana Goor designed jewelry, buckles and sold belts to most major department stores in America including I Magnin, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Saks Fifth Ave. and in Japan.
In 1986 Ilana Goor introduced a collection of iron furniture and accessories to the American marketplace as limited editions signed by the artist.
She was awarded the Roscoe award for Best Design in residential seating in 1988.
Her works are presently displayed in sixteen decorator and designer showrooms throughout the United States. Her iron furniture collection was displayed in the Israel Museum, Jerusalem in1987 and in 1993 Ilana Goor introduced her collection of furniture in Japan...
