About the Item
Nando Kallweit’s "Callindra II" is a striking contemporary bronze sculpture that captures a poised and introspective moment. This modern figurative artwork features an elongated, faceless form sitting with crossed legs, exuding a sense of grace and quiet contemplation. The rich patina and textured bronze surface enhance its expressive simplicity, making it a compelling addition to minimalist, abstract, and contemporary art collections.
German sculptor Nando Kallweit produces figurative bronze sculptures and reliefs with aquiline and a graceful modern appeal. Kallweit is inspired by seemingly disparate cultures; the strength of ancient Egyptian sculptures, the dynamic forms of the modern Cubist movement, and an observation of our contemporary and future existence. Combined with a considerate approach, Kallweit renders archaic materials, such as blackened oak and bronze, with a palpable sensitivity. These forms are varied tirelessly in his creations.
This 8 inch high by 4-inch wide by 4-inch deep figurative bronze sculpture is named Callindra and is number 2 in a series of 25. Each of Nando's figures is named according to their distinct personalities as visualized by the artist. This sculpture can be placed on any flat surface. Kallweit's unique sculptures can also be grouped to create a harmonious display.
Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping is available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included.
Close observation of each piece leads to the discovery of unexpected details that convey emotional robustness. Kallweit moves continuously while creating his sculptures. He works with intensity and energy that he must balance with a sensitive and considerate approach. Kallweit’s work is permeated by a longing for the unknown, the elusive, the divine, and the spiritual. The visual impact of his metal sculptures leaves a deep impression on the viewer.
After completing engineering school in Germany, Kallweit began a successful career as a freelance sculptor. He currently lives in Essen, Germany. His work has since become coveted for public installations and private collections alike internationally.

Nando Kallweit
Nando Kallweit is a German sculptor working in bronze and oak. As a young boy, he was inspired by the beauty and antiquity of a bust of Nefertiti housed in the Egyptian Museum of Berlin. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, his new-found freedoms allowed him to travel to Egypt and develop his belief in the basic strength and pride inherent in inhumanity. His sculptures seek to emphasize this through elongated forms and upright postures. He reduces the figures to simple gestures and movements creating sculptures with a wonderful interplay between the archaic and the modern; between art and design. Nando’s work has been exhibited across Europe and is held in many private collections. He has produced a number of large scale permanent installation pieces for German municipalities and museums.

Sarkis Tossoonian was born in Alexandria in 1953. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts/Sculpture in 1979. He started exhibiting in individual and group exhibitions in Alexandria since 1980 and up until now. Sarkis Tossoonian won the second prize in Sculpture in the 5th Biennale of Port Said in 2001. Sarkis Tossoonian excels in blending two different mediums in his works like non shiny bronze with shiny golden brass. His figures stand for both male and female dressed elegantly and representing mostly noble graceful figures
Although metals are his favorite material, Tossoonian returned to Aswan symposium to carve another statue of granite for the second time. This year, the artist wants to carve what he wished to do last year but failed due to the disobedience of the stubborn piece of stone.
