About the Item

Patinated bronze torso suspended within a rusted iron globe evokes ancient Venus iconography and contemporary themes of constraint and resilience. Caged Woman 3 (Ø 32 cm) by Aldonza is cast via traditional lost-wax technique in bronze with a verdigris finish. The figure’s smooth organic curves—closed eyes, gently outstretched arms—contrast powerfully with the raw, hand-forged iron sphere welded from twisted rods. This third edition in the Caged Women series explores the duality of female vulnerability and strength. The verdigris patina on the bronze recalls weathered artifacts, while the rusted iron globe suggests both imprisonment and protection. Each iron orb is uniquely assembled, its irregular geometry framing the bronze form like a protective membrane. The interplay of fine sculptural detail and coarse industrial material creates a dynamic tension that invites close viewing from every angle. Ideal for solo display on a low pedestal or as part of a trio installation, Caged Woman 3 can be acquired individually or alongside Caged Woman 1 and 2 for a thematic ensemble. A significant discount is offered when purchasing all three pieces together—please inquire for details. Delivered in museum-quality condition, each sculpture ships in a custom wooden crate (35 × 35 × 35 cm, 6 kg packed) and arrives ready for secure display. At Casa das Peritas Gallery, we operate globally with the same attention and proximity we extend to our local neighbors.
