This pack—Replica Numbers 3, 4, and 5 from Óscar Aldonza Torres’s Os Errantes series—stands 28 cm tall with a combined footprint of 22 × 22 cm, each figure resting directly on its own feet. Individually cast via the traditional cire-perdue method, the three bronzes bear the premeditated roughness of mold irregularities, their fissured limbs and sinewy torsos accentuated by layered verdigris and warm brown patina.
Drawing on Giacometti-inspired textural contrasts, the blind wanderer motif in each sculpture—tilted head, outreached hands—evokes a disoriented emergence from soil, reflecting Aldonza’s recurring concerns with life’s fragility, the search for meaning, and the ambivalence of the human condition.
