Here for your consideration is a beautiful vintage Austin sculpture John Cutrone 1987 "Waiting in the Wings" ballet slippers. Signed " Austin Prod Inc 1987" and "Cutrone". Detailed work with skin textures and veins visible. On black laminate base. Condition is excellent. Plaster resin casting. The base is 9 inches wide by 8 inches deep and 2 inches in height. . 15 inches is the overall height including the base. Unknown edition number.. Provenance: A Nokomis, Florida collector. John Cutrone was born January 12, 1955 in Brooklyn New York, growing up on Long Island. Self taught, he dedicated himself to art at the age of 12. Getting his first big break in New York in the 1970's with the prestigious Keane Mason Gallery, located on 57th Street. At the age of 25, he had his first one man show at Gallery Internationale, New York. John began to produce in bronze and was fortunate to have also worked with Erte, the father of the Art Deco movement. Since 1981, John has shown in more than 25 galleries in the United States. John's sculpture has been used in the movie "Beaches", the weekly drama set of L.A. Law, various sitcoms, and T.V. that include Oprah Winfrey and "The Most Beautiful Homes in Chicago".
