'Get Your Motor Running' Rainer W. Schlegelmilch Archive Limited Edition
Located in London, GB
Italian GP Richie Ginther waits beside his Honda RA273 as mechanics work on the engine. Image details Championship: Formula 1 1966 (Formula 1, 1966) Event: Italian GP Date taken: Sunday, September 04, 1966 Location: Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy Photographer: Rainer Schlegelmilch Rainer W. Schlegelmilch the German born widely regarded "Master of Motorsports Photography" delighted in this series of works Glamour, kitsch, sex and fast cars - this extraordinary body of work encapsulates the excitement of this era. Limited edition to 150 only - Archive stamped and numbered - with certificate of authenticity Oversize 24 x 24" inches / 61 x 61 cm paper size C type print unframed. Beautiful. About Richie Ginther & Honda BRM and Honda In 1962, Ginther switched to the British-based BRM team to race alongside Graham Hill. The highlight of his time at BRM was finishing equal-second (with Hill) in the 1963 World Championship. Ginther scored more points than his British teammate over the whole season, but only a driver's six best scores were counted towards the championship. His reputation as a solid "team player" and excellent test and development driver earned him an invitation to join the works Honda F1 team for 1965, for whom he scored his one and only GP win, at the 1965 Mexican Grand Prix. The win was also Honda's first in Formula 1. Ginther averaged 151.7 kilometres per hour (94.3 mph) over the curving 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) track in the 65 lap Mexico City event. His speed eclipsed the previous course record of 150.185 km/h (93.321 mph) established by Dan Gurney in 1964. It was the first time Honda had entered the Mexican Grand Prix.[22] Honda reentered international competition in the 1966 Italian Grand Prix. The team was three years old and had encountered difficulty in the preparation of a larger engine. Ginther led in Italy before his car crashed into a retaining wall and he broke his collarbone.[23] He signed with the Eagle F1 team in 1967 and raced in the Race of Champions. At Monaco after practice, his place on the grid was given to an F2 car weighted to bring it up to minimum F1 specifications, and Ginther left F1 in disgust. Ginther won one race, achieved 14 podiums, and scored a total of 107 championship points. He appeared in an uncredited role in the 1966 film Grand Prix as John Hogarth, a driver in the Japanese funded "Yamura" team. He also acted as one of the technical racing advisors for the movie. While making an attempt to qualify for the 1967 Indy 500, Ginther broke a fuel line in his American Eagle Indy Car...

Tina Turner on Motorbike Monaco 35 x 24 colour print
Located in Norwich, GB
David Koppel served his photographic apprenticeship in the rough-and-tumble world of the Fleet Street paparazzi in 1980’s London when his skills captured the very essence of the Me Decade that gave birth to the celebrity culture of today. Koppel’s classic photographs of Frank Sinatra, Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton & the Royal Family appeared in every major newspaper and magazine and marked him out as that rarity amongst press photographers: the artist with a camera. Building on the reputation gained through the photographs for the book Still Waters, his black-and-white portraits of ordinary people now rank among the many famous names in his portfolio. Koppel also went one better and in 2002 bought the St Giles St Gallery , bringing the best of local and international contemporary art and photography to Norwich, including the works of Sir Peter Blake, Terry O’Neill, David Bailey, Maggie Hambling, Storm Thorgersson, Tim Woolcock...

1972 original poster by Albert Brenet for the Musée français du chemin de fer
Located in PARIS, FR
The 1972 original poster by Albert Brenet for the Musée français du chemin de fer in Mulhouse is a captivating work that captures the essence of France's rich railway heritage. Created by the renowned French painter and illustrator, the poster reflects Brenet’s talent for depicting scenes of transportation and industry with a sense of grandeur and nostalgia. This piece was part of a promotional campaign to attract visitors to the museum, which is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of French railways. Albert Brenet was a distinguished artist known for his dynamic illustrations, particularly in the fields of maritime and transport subjects. His work is characterized by a meticulous attention to detail and a vibrant, lifelike quality that brings industrial scenes to life. In this 1972 poster, Brenet turns his attention to the world of trains, presenting an evocative scene that highlights both the mechanical beauty of the locomotive and the human connection to it. The poster features a striking depiction of a historic steam locomotive, rendered in rich, vivid colors. The powerful engine, meticulously detailed, stands as a symbol of the technological advancements and the spirit of progress that defined the railway era. The setting, likely a large train shed or museum hall, creates a dramatic backdrop that emphasizes the grandeur of the locomotive. Brenet’s skillful use of light and shadow adds depth and realism, making the engine appear almost tangible. At the heart of the scene are two figures—likely visitors to the museum—gazing up at the locomotive in awe. Their presence adds a human element to the image, emphasizing the role of the Musée français du chemin de fer as a place of education and inspiration. By including these figures, Brenet captures the wonder and curiosity that trains continue to evoke, bridging the gap between past and present. The text on the poster, Musée français du chemin de fer - Mulhouse, is elegantly placed, with a clean, classic typeface that complements the visual composition without detracting from the central image. The simple, yet effective typography reflects the museum’s focus on heritage and the timeless appeal of the railway. The Musée français du chemin de fer, located in Mulhouse, Alsace, is one of the largest railway museums in Europe. Established to preserve the rich history of French rail transport, the museum houses an extensive collection of locomotives, carriages, and railway artifacts. The poster by Brenet was part of an effort to promote the museum to a broader audience, inviting them to explore the fascinating world of trains and their impact on modern society. The 1972 poster is not only a piece of advertising but also an artwork that encapsulates the spirit of the museum. Brenet’s artistic interpretation captures the essence of the museum’s mission: to celebrate the technological and cultural achievements of the railway industry and to share this legacy with future generations. Today, the poster is considered a collector’s item, valued for both its artistic merit and its historical significance. It serves as a reminder of the golden age of rail travel and the enduring fascination with the power and elegance of trains. Albert Brenet’s work continues to be admired for its ability to convey the majesty of industrial subjects, making the Musée français du chemin de fer poster...
