Onyx, Marble, Gilt Bronze and Champlevé Enamel Pedestal Clock
Located in London, GB
This colorful pedestal clock has been crafted from fine red marble and green onyx, and beautifully decorated with gilt bronze (ormolu) and champlevé enamel. While a popular crafts material in ancient times, onyx was largely forgotten about until its rediscovery in the mid-19th century in Algeria by a French marble-worker called Delmonte. Onyx became highly fashionable in France following this discovery, and it was used to create a variety of decorative art objects.
The clock features a green onyx cube-shaped case, which is surmounted by a slightly projecting red marble top. This top is fringed with champlevé enamel drapery-like motifs, with gilt bronze drop-finials. The case is mounted on its front with a circular dial, which features a central floral champlevé enamel motif, encircled by black Arabic Numerals. This dial is set within a gilt bronze egg-and-dart and champlevé enamel bezel. The sides of the case are mounted with circular gilt bronze barometers...

The 10.5ft 18th Century George I Bur/Burl Walnut Month Longcase Clock by
By James Markwick
Located in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
This is, without doubt, the largest and most impressive English longcase/grandfather clock we have ever encountered, standing at three meters twenty (10.5ft/321cm) and it is quite possibly the largest from the entire 18th century. The golden age.
As you might expect, no expense was spared when this clock was commissioned circa 1710-1720, using only the very finest cuts of burr/burl walnut to adorn the case and cross-grain mouldings throughout, leading up to the sensational month going, quarter chiming movement by James Markwick, London.
Once wound, the clock will run for one month, chiming the quarters on six bells...

French Renaissance style gilt bronze and enamel mounted onyx longcase clock
French, late 19th century
Measures: Height 126cm, width 37cm, depth 30cm
This colourful longcase clock was created in France in the late 19th Century. It has been crafted from red marble and green onyx and decorated with gilt bronze and champlevé enamel.
The clock consists of a circular enamel dial, mounted onto a cube-shaped case, placed on a tall body which is set on a short marble plinth. The circular clock dial features Arabic numerals and is ornamented with gilt bronze and colourful champlevé enamel designs. This is set within a circular gilt bronze and enamel frame and mounted onto the green onyx block. The corners of the block are lined with gilt bronze bands, and the sides are set with circular, gilt-bronze-framed champlevé enamel forms. The clock case is surmounted by a slim projecting green onyx and red marble top. This is edged with curvaceous champlevé enamel forms with gilt bronze drop-finials, which imitate fabric.

19th Century Antique Regency Mahogany Longcase Clock by John Barwise of London
By John Barwise
Located in Devon, GB
A fine Regency longcase clock in the form of a domestic regulator in an architectural mahogany case with inset panels of satinwood and ebonized mouldings. The case of this clock shows the distinct influence of Thomas Hope, the eminent antiquarian and designer who was inspired by the Greek and Egyptian designs.
The 12in square brass dial has a silvered finish and is engraved with Roman chapters and subsidiary second’s dial. The dial is signed within the lower section 'Barwise, London'.
The eight day duration movement is of the highest quality, with five pillars, dead beat escapement, maintaining power and hour strike on a bell. The pendulum has a wood rod for temperature compensation with beat adjustment and rating nut beneath the brass bob. The clock is complete with the original brass cased weights.
