International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA)
Launched in 1987, the International Fine Print Dealers Association has continually set the bar for quality and ethics while promoting prints as original works of art to generations of collectors, curators and art lovers. With over 160 members in 13 countries, the IFPDA is a worldwide community of leading dealers and editions publishers who represent the full spectrum of printmaking. Each year, the IFPDA hosts the IFPDA Print Fair in New York, the only major fair dedicated to fine-art prints.

The Second Edition of 20, with the plates loose in a portfolio, and with each of them titled, inscribed "Ed 2," numbered "6/20, signed in pencil by Tyler, and bearing the emossed seal of the Uranian Press at the lower right (the First Edition, of 5 copies, was a bound set of the plates, signed on the Justification page by Tyler, but with the individual plates unsigned).
Quarto, string-tied boards covered in white linen printed in black from woodblocks, endpapers printed in purple and red, paper folder enclosing 20 woodblock plates printed in colors.
The portfolio 14 x 10 1/2 inches, the plates each about 12 1/2 x 9 3/4 inches.
The whole in excellent condition except that the paper folder containing the plates is foxed.
We have seen a copy of the bound edition, but the work seems to very rare in either iteration.

Claire Sherman is a painter who made her first lithographs at Shark’s in the summer of 2018 including the prints Underbrush and Tree and Water. Her paintings and prints propel the viewer into a claustrophobic and unstable world through a perspective that shimmies between representation and abstraction. Her works reference idealistic visions of the sublime, while the medley of imagery presented eliminates the need to identify the actual places – these works do not seek to portray a specific view or experience. A very good impression of this rarity.
Hollstein indicates that earlier impressions, such as this one, do not have a scratch above the head of the Virgin.
Beham was one of the Northern Renaissance Little Masters, so called because of their eminence in producing small-scale engravings such as the Virgin and Child with a Pear. Beham was born in Nuremberg in 1500, and may have trained under Durer, though his training is no more certain than that of his younger brother Barthel. He made his first engraving in 1518, and later became known for producing woodcuts as well.
Beham’s Madonna with the Pear has a similar composition but in reverse to Durer’s engraving...
