Incredibly Rare & Exquisite Singing Bird Box Inspired by Charles Bruguier
Located in London, GB
Incredibly Rare & Exquisite Singing-Bird Box Inspired by Charles Bruguier Inlaid with Gold, Mother-of-Pearl and Enamel 為珍珠、珍珠母和琺瑯鑲嵌的歌鳥盒 For nearly two centuries, miniature singing bird boxes have captivated collectors around the world. With masterpieces being produced by French, German, and Swiss artisans, these delicate and intricately ornate boxes combine the simple eloquence of technological machinery with fantastic artistry. This particular offering is directly inspired by famed Swiss craftsman Charles Bruguier, produced in a rich and vibrant tortoiseshell fascia. The ornate flower petals and nature motif is offset by the vibrant colors and underlying miniaturized bird with an ivory beak and natural feathers. When wound, the front slide opens the bird lid and activates the movement and song of the finely crafted mechanical device. The detailing of the machinery is remarkable, while the pastoral scene adds a sense of old-world charm to any collection. These were highly sought-after pieces of art by nobles and royalty alike as the utility of automata was still in vogue during the 19th century. Charles Bruguier only crafted 27 singing bird boxes a year from his small studio. Although we cannot verify the origin of this particular piece, the matching artwork...

Unique Alfred Dunhill 18ct Gold and Amethyst Geode Lighthouse Lighter, 1975
By Alfred Dunhill
Located in London, GB
Dedication and great skill are what you need to create a unique piece of this extraordinary quality – a massive 18ct gold (over 1.5 kilos) and amethyst table lighter in the form of a Lighthouse. It is set on top of a solid section of amethyst geode, 112 pounds in weight, beautifully cut to emulate a rocky shoreline, consisting of 9 rectangular cut AAA grade cut and polished amethysts. The base of the Lighthouse, also in 18ct gold, is engraved to resemble brickwork, and even has a ladder leading up to a fenced ledge with a small door. The glazed lantern at the top, also has ‘windows’ of bevelled amethyst and the body of the lighthouse and the lantern illuminate from within. The lighthouse lantern...

By Stonebridge Glass Co., Louis Comfort Tiffany, Tiffany Studios
Located in New York, NY
This Tiffany Studios New York covered box by Louis Comfort Tiffany, covered with an enamel "Olive" motif, was executed by the Enamelware Department of The Stonebridge Glass Company in New York. The stoic composition is primarily composed of richly enameled copper, with the cover and body of this rare piece sharing decoration of subtly-hued olives, with purple-brown copper branches and deep green leaves. While the rarity of the object itself makes it an incredibly collectible item, the easy beauty of the composition also makes it an instant treasure. Tiffany and impressed SC 332" Provenance: Parke-Bernet Galleries Inc., New York, Private Collection, circa 1965, thence by descent to the present owners Literature: Box pictured in Behind the Scenes of Tiffany Glassmaking: The Nash Notebooks, by Martin Eidelberg and Nancy McClelland, New York, 2001, pp. 21 and 178 (for the model executed in pottery); Box also pictured in Louis C.
