A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece tea service - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection. This antique Victorian sterling silver three piece tea set / service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug / creamer. Each piece has a plain rectangular form with incurved corners onto a shaped collet foot. The lower portion of the body of the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl is embellished with fine embossed fluted decoration. Each piece is further ornamented with the contemporary bright cut engraved initials ‘JGK’ to one side. The teapot is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover, which features further fluted decoration to the domed portion. The cover retains the original rectangular incurved cornered carved painted wood and sterling silver finial. The teapot is fitted with the original plain angular carved painted wood handle with a plain scrolling thumbpiece. Both the cream jug and the sugar bowl have sterling silver angular handles. The cream jug and sugar bowl retain their original gilt interiors. This antique tea set is contained within the original hinged oak box with a velvet lined interior and brass carrying handles.
