Cazzaniga Rings

Italian

Italian jeweler Cazzaniga is a family-run business that creates exquisite pieces. Influenced by Renaissance, Byzantine, Florentine and Classical Roman styles, its necklaces, earrings and other pieces of jewelry are expertly crafted to feature dazzling gemstones and sculpted gold for a look of refined opulence.

Cazzaniga’s visual cornucopia of designs reflects its decades in the business as one of the best-known jewelers based in Italy. Distinguished collectors have long flocked to Cazzaniga, including the late Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly, who was often seen wearing a Cazzaniga ruby and diamond gold brooch.

Giorgio Cazzaniga founded the Cazzaniga jewelry firm in 1920. Originally, it was located on the via della Stamperia, near the Trevi Fountain, in Rome. In 1942, the company relocated its workshop to the Piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina, where it subsequently opened a storefront.

In 1963, Cazzaniga moved to the via Frattina, where the company would remain until the death of its founder in 1976. Both of Cazzaniga’s sons continued the family business. Paolo Cazzaniga opened his own location under the family name in 1973 in Rome. Roberto Cazzaniga started a new business in New York in 1979, though it closed two years later.

Today, Cazzaniga continues to create pieces that are coveted the world over.

“Something new yet immediately recognizable” is how Paolo Cazzaniga describes its work, which is steeped in Mediterranean culture. Paolo’s wearable perfume bottles are especially sought after, as he believes that ordinary objects found in a woman’s handbag should be adorned and celebrated as much as the woman who uses them.

Cazzaniga Roma Ankh Cocktail Ring in Solid 18Kt White Gold with VS Diamonds
By Cazzaniga
Located in Miami, FL
Cocktail ring with Ankh designed by Cazzaniga. Beautiful cocktail ring with Ankh cross motif, created in Roma Italy by the fine jewelry house of Cazzaniga. This intricate piece have been crafted with baroque revival patterns in solid white gold of 18 karats with textured finish. The ankh has a cross shape but with a teardrop-shaped loop in place of a vertical upper bar. The origins of the symbol are not known, although many hypotheses have been proposed. In art the symbol often appeared as a physical object representing either life or substances such as air or water that are related to it. It was especially commonly held in the hands of ancient Egyptian deities, or being given by them to the pharaoh, to represent their power to sustain life and to revive human souls in the afterlife. The ankh was one of the most common decorative motifs in ancient Egypt and was also used decoratively by neighbouring cultures. Coptic Christians adapted it into the crux ansata, a shape with a circular rather than oval loop, and used it as a variant of the Christian cross. The ankh came into widespread use in Western culture in the 1960s, and it is often used as a symbol of African cultural identity, Neopagan belief systems, and the goth subculture. Diamonds: Bezel set with 4 round brilliant cut diamonds, 0.24 carats, white colorless F color, VS-2 clarity. Size: 7.5 and can be resized. Weight: 10.2 Grams, (6.53 Dwt). Measurements: From the top view 25.4 mm by 22 mm (1.0 x 0.87 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the Italian gold assay mark and signed in full, "CAZZANIGA ROMA...
