George Russin

George Russin was an American artist born in New York City in 1910. He attended the High School of Music and Art to pursue both the fields of study. There, he was awarded the St. Gaudens Medal for Art plus a scholarship to Pratt Institute. Russin graduated from the Pratt Institute, receiving the Bronze Medal for his achievement, and later he attended the Art Students League of New York. The Little Studio had presented several shows of his work in New York, Boston and Beverly Hills while the La Napoule Art Foundation of France purchased two of his paintings for their collection. Russin is known for figures, portraits, also inspired by traveling and different cultures. He perfected the pallet knife technique using vibrant colors and fine almost realistic details.
