James Proudfoot Furniture
British, 1908-1971
James Proudfoot was born in Perth and died in London. He studied at Perth Academy and St Andrews University. He worked for a short while in his father’s carpet business. He moved to London where he studied art at Heatherleys and Goldsmiths College. He married the actress Ellen Pollock (1902–97). He became well known as a portrait painter with many stars of stage and screen amongst his patrons.
