Kind of Cyan Still-life Prints

American, b. 1984
Kind of Cyan is an art collective based in Barcelona, Spain, that specializes in producing cyanotype prints, also known as sun prints. This 19th-century printing technique uses UV-light to create images with a rich, intense blue hue that is both nostalgic and contemporary. The collective's archive includes a range of medium to large sized works that are perfect for filling large walls and open spaces. Each piece is either part of a small edition or a completely unique monotype, ensuring that every artwork is one-of-a-kind. Through their use of the cyanotype process, Kind of Cyan creates visually stunning works that are both nostalgic and contemporary. Their prints capture the essence of the natural world and evoke a sense of wonder and awe, with a deep appreciation for the history of photography and an understanding of design fundamentals that will beautifully enhance any space.

This series of cyanotype triptychs showcases the beauty of nature scenes, including stunning beaches and oceans, as well as the intricate textures of water, forests, and skies. These triptychs are large pieces that feature lush blues, making them an impressive addition to any beautifully designed space. Each triptych is printed by hand and carefully crafted to capture the unique essence of these natural environments, with a focus on the interplay of light and shadows, and the subtle nuances of tone and texture. The beach and ocean scenes depict the dynamic beauty of waves crashing against the shore, with the cyanotype process lending a dreamy, ethereal quality to the images. What kind of artist RETNA is depends on what stage of his career you're considering. Growing up in Los Angeles, RETNA was mesmerized by the graffiti that surrounded him. He began practicing the art form and adopted the name RETNA from a Wu-Tang Clan song. In the mid-1990s, he began making murals on walls, trains and freeway overpasses throughout the city. RETNA later transformed from a street artist into a break-out star in the contemporary art world. At first glance, RETNA's prints and paintings look like an undiscovered ancient script. He has created an original alphabet, fusing together influences from ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, Arabic, Asian calligraphy, graffiti, blackletter, Roman lettering and Hebrew. Shop a selection of RETNA art on 1stDibs.

Prada is a luxury fashion brand. Mario Prada founded the luxury fashion house in Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in 1913. Since its establishment, Prada has regularly gone against the grain to elevate styles that have long been out of fashion.

In 1996, Prada offered dresses and skirts in clashing patterns and muted earth tones that some considered flat and outdated, all worn with chunky, high wedge sandals. Fanny packs followed three years later, and elaborate lace in 2008. Each season continues to bring new eye-catching innovations for the historic brand, including enhanced attention to sustainability with Prada Re-Nylon, a new line of bags created from recycled ocean plastic.
