Marc Foster Grant Landscape Paintings
American, b. 1947
Marc Foster Grant (American, b. 1947) is an artist from San Diego, CA who began showing his art at 13 years old. This led to becoming San Diego Museum’s Art Guild’s youngest member. He attended San Francisco State University in 1965 to study printmaking under John Ihle and Dennis Beal. Throughout college, Marc taught silk screening classes in his Potero Hill painting studio and worked at Museum West—an arm of New York Museum of Contemporary Crafts. Later he became the Display Director at Design Research International. He later attended the Brighton School of Art and Design in England for graduate work in printmaking.
In 1973 Marc joined his wife Jeanne’s fledging dress business. The couple moved the enterprise from England, back to San Francisco where they opened their first shop, “Jeanne-Marc”, in North Beach. Under the same label they sold their small sportswear collection to high-end specialty stores including I. Magnin, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman as well as to stores in Europe and Japan. In 1991 both Marc and Jeanne were elected to the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America)

"Sunset Over the South Atlantic Shore, Ghana, Africa, " Acrylic on Paper
By Samuel B. Kpetenkple
Located in Milwaukee, WI
"Sunset Over the South Atlantic Shore, Ghana, Africa" is an original acrylic painting on paper by Samuel B. Kpetenkple. This piece depicts five figures standing before the whitecap waves of the ocean.
3 1/8" x 4 1/2" art
10 3/4" x 12" frame
Artist Statement: "As often said there are some few "indigenous and naturals" who seem to have been born with brushes and pallet knifes in their hands.
Nii Kpetenkple Samuel is one of such gifted and talented Artist; Painting to me, is one of the eloquent media for expressing myself about all the corners of the world and all that it holds; Of course it is not by accident, that i went into Painting. Nii Kpetenkple was born and bred in a coastal town, a suburb of Accra called NUNGUA, it's only 10 miles away from Accra. I am now in my late twenties.
Nii Kpetenkple, had his training as an Artist at one of the secondary schools in Accra - Ghana. Later I had my tertiary training at Ultimate school of Art, (u.s.a) Ghana.
I enjoy sketching, swimming, reading and music that keeps me working always. My childhood experiences with fishermen in their fishing expedition, fish mongers, market women, local houses or structures and meaningful Ghanaian symbols with abstract figures made me one of the expert in that area.
As an Artist, art enables me to see nature as eternal, grasp a fragment of the Almighty's plan, even a bit of land scape, few pieces of fruits or a human form.
Throughout my period of contemplation and years of uninterrupted close contact with nature, vast truths flashed upon my mental horizon, to which i gave expression in my paintings.
I had no doubt that, i had discovored a new realm in the world of painting and would carry on to a fuller completion with what many gurus of the Art industry like Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Cezanne, Van gogh, Gauguin, Ablade Grover, Amon Kotei...

Abstract 64 - Abstract Expressionist Mixed Media (Black + Yellow + Cream)
By Helen Bellaver
Located in Gilroy, CA
"Abstract 64," is a contemporary Abstract painting by San Jose-based artist Helen Bellaver. In this work, Helen layers a medium onto her canvas or paper to create a subtle texture, which she then layers her acrylic paint on to create depth and detail. This work creates a sense of energy as the eye is drawn to the rich black and relieved by golden tones of cream as it intertwines itself into the foreground of the painting.
Helen Bellaver is an abstract expressionist living in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she has been practicing for the last thirty years. Her work has evolved into expressions of black. To the artist, black brings her a sense of calm and is at the forefront of her works. She uses it as her foreground, and in the background, she has layers of creams, whites, blues, ochres, browns, reds, etc. The mark-making on her works comes directly from the genre of Abstract Expressionism...
