Nicola Villa Animal Paintings
Nicola Villa is an Italian aquatint artist and figurative painter, born in 1976, in Lecco, Italy. He is a master of the art of watercolor, aquatint and etching. After winning a residential art internship, he moved to New York City for six months, a period during which he designed his portfolio, which represents scenes of New Yorkers that impressed him. He now lives and works in Genoa, Italy.
After obtaining a degree in architecture from the Politecnico of Milan, in 2004, Nicola decided to devote himself to painting. He is particularly keen on depicting the human condition, using paintings to detail images derived from his daily walks on the streets. The life of his characters belongs to a story without a plot, where figures chase one another beyond their physical presence, into an imaginative atmosphere of elusive subtle anxiety that surrounds all of us.
