Iranian, b. 1962
Commitment, passion, and love to elicit, “Beauty,” are the paradigms of Parish’s photographic philosophy. Originality, inventiveness, and timelessness are the hallmarks of his three decades of photography. His uncommon use of color, as well as his luminous black and white images, are the makings of his distinctive style.
In his upcoming book, Luminosa, Parish showcases a 5-year long collaboration with Cirque du Soleil performers. Capturing images at 1/5000th of a second, he creates “frozen moments,” that celebrate the power of the human body and the beauty of the human form.
He is a proud member of Canon’s prestigious, Explorers of Light, since l994. An honor shared by a small group of elite photographers worldwide. Parish is also a member of Canon’s “Print Master” Program, as well as APPLE’S Advisory Board for Aperture Software. He is a recipient of many national and international awards.

Modern Masters of Photography. Japan (1960-2003) is a limited edition portfolio of contemporary Japanese photography by 12 internationally renowned photographers. The 12 photographs are printed on photo rag paper in an edition of 100 and presented in a hard-case portfolio. The prints are hand-signed by the artists, each with an edition number.
Printed in 2005 under the direction of the photographers the 13” x 19” photographs are in the portfolio "Masters of Modern Photography. Japan,” published by Swaminathan Foundation in Japan edition, Tokyo.

Artist’s Bio:
Yasuhiro Ishimoto a Japanese photographer was born in 1921. His work was chosen by Edward Steichen to appear in the Family of Man exhibition and catalogue at the Museum of Modern Art in 1955, and Steichen also selected his work for a three-person exhibition in 1961. From 1973-1993 Ishimoto produced a number of in-camera color abstractions that appeared as covers for a Japanese magazine. Ishimoto's exhibitions, include New Japanese Photography at the Museum of Modern Art in 1974, solo shows in 1960 and 1999 at the Art Institute of Chicago, a retrospective in 1989–1990 at Seibu Museum of Art in Tokyo, and an exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, in 1996. Aldara Ortega’s series Agua Viva was an entirely experimental journey brought together by the serendipity of life, motion, and emotion. Ortega found the model featured in these photos at an art fair where she was spellbound by her work with silks. The two met in Miami and brought to life a series of three photographs entitled, Liquid Passion, El Beso, and Poderosa Nereida. Within these masterpieces Ortega discovered her passion for not capturing poses, but motion and how looking closely at the in-between moments of life can bring to light undiscovered emotions.

Artist Biography -
While Knorr’s images take some of their inspiration from the Indian tradition of personifying animals in literature and art, there is another almost subconscious strain to her work.
