This historic shot of the pool was captured just after the the Fontainebleau's opening in 1954. Visual Description: Guests enjoying the newly opened turquoise cat-shaped pool at the Fontainebleu Hotel, designed by Morris Lapidus. The deck features sunny, graphic yellow and black umbrellas, as well as red, yellow and blue striped umbrellas and loungers. The cat's tail is a vintage wooden diving board, its ears are stairs, and its nose is a slide. Designed by Morris Lapidus.
