Thomas Nozkowski Art
American, 1944-2019
Thomas Nozkowski (March 23, 1944 – May 9, 2019) was an American contemporary painter.[1] He achieved a place of prominence through his small scale paintings and drawings that push the limits of visual language.
Nozkowski was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and raised in Dumont,[2] where he graduated from Dumont High School in 1961.[3] He spent his youth in the New Jersey suburbs, admiring New York culture from afar before moving there after graduating high school. When he was a senior in high school he won a scholarship to attend a painting class at New York University's School of Education, where he studied with Robert Kaupelis and Hale Woodruff.[2] While he earned his BFA at Cooper Union, Nozkowski was making sculptures. He graduated in 1967. He later transitioned to painting, and exhibited some of his earliest works in group shows at the storied Betty Parsons Gallery.[4](Biography provided by Sager Reeves Gallery)

Nozkowski was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and raised in Dumont, where he graduated from Dumont High School in 1961. He spent his youth in the New Jersey suburbs, admiring New York culture from afar before moving there after graduating high school. Poem 70-82
By Haku Maki
Located in San Francisco, CA
This work is immediately recognizable as the work of Haku Maki (1924-2000). It is one of his well-known abstract compositions. The print is in very good condition, with no flaws noted on the surface. There is some very, very light toning in the margins, barely visible only under bright light.
Maki Haku (巻白, 1924–2000) is the artistic name of Maejima Tadaaki, who was born in Ibaraki Prefecture. He was a sōsaku-hanga artist in 20th Century Japan. During World War II, Maejima Tadaaki was trained as a kamikaze pilot in the Japanese air force, but the war ended before he was assigned a mission. Haku had no formal art training, but studied for two years with the sōsaku-hanga artist Onchi Kōshirō...
