American, 1919-2016
Wyona Diskin, an American painter and printmaker, born and raised in New York City resided throughout her adult life in Manhattan. She was introduced to the New York art scene through her friend Michael Loew and his circle of friends, who included artists like Jackson Pollack, George and Eileen De Kooning and Milton Avery. Diskin studied art at NYU and the NYAA under Joseph Hirsch and Lily Harmon, among others. She also worked there for John Kacere and Jack Tworkov. Diskin's preferred mediums were oil and acrylic for much of her life, only at a later stage of her creative work she went into printmaking.

"At first glance the viewer may only see geometric spherical shapes with added lines and rectangles on tea toned Silver Gelatin paper. "The supremacy of pure artistic feeling" rather than the visual depiction of objects assign to the art movement of Suprematism comes to one's mind.
