Brazilian Rosewood Sofa by Celina Decorações, Midcentury Brazilian Design, 1960s
By Celina Decoracoes
Located in New York, NY
This sofa was produced by the Brazilian company Celina Decorações in the 1960s. The sofa is made of solid Rosewood, with seats and backs upholstered with a gorgeous fabric 100% Organic Silk, from our collection Bossa Fabrics. The armrests have a rectangular design that favors the visualization of the beautiful veins of the wood, with upholstered sides. The base consists of four rectangular legs, providing lightness to this three-seat sofa. Celina Decorações signed one of the most modern lines of Brazilian furniture in the 1960s. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the Celina Decorações factory imposed high-quality standards, maintaining handcrafted characteristics. With a color pallet rooted in natural shades, our Fabric collection tells a bit about Brazilian biodiversity, through raw and natural materials and artisanal processes. For dyeing this textured fabric was used yerba mate...

Set of Copper Trays by Brazilian Designer Brunno Jahara
By Brunno Jahara
Located in New York, NY
Stacks for St. James, the collection is based on the company’s tradition of making silver-plated objects and is formed by a series of trays, candlesticks, boxes and buckets to serve snacks and drinks or to be used as centerpieces to place fruits and plants. The designer was able to build the collection using shapes from other pieces and turning them into stacks of different uses and sizes. The first pieces were made in copper and later new versions in brass and nickel will be available this year. To Jahara, the simple, pure and clean lines of the objects were to enhance the basic geometric forms such as the circle, making it appear in handles to use for several functions. It’s a new way to interpret the tradition of the factory that works for more than 40 years in the luxury field by keeping the essential to it, the function and quality materials. Copper Tray with Handle...

Designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler, modern Brazilian sofa, iron, and velvet. Brazil, circa 1950s. Shell or "Concha" sofa is made of iron and recently reupholstered in yellow velvet by the experienced craftsmen in our team. The upholstery was chosen considering the contemporary proposal of the piece. The sofa features a comfortable seat, clean design, and freedom of user movements and is constructed in a frame with metal rods elegantly positioned to give strength to the piece, a common trait of designers. The buttons velvet coated between seat and backs were used, by the designers, for an excellent velvet finish, and the restoration proposal was to maintain them. Martin Eisler and Carlo Hauner were the primary designers for the iconic Brazilian furniture...
