Georgian 18th Century Mahogany Kneehole Desk
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A superb quality and extremely attractive 18th century, Chippendale period, georgian mahogany kneehole desk, having well figured rectangular top over slide, central cupboard and arrangement of drawers, retaining original rococo brass handles, raised on original shaped bracket feet.
Generally, kneehole deeks are regarded as a smaller, more compact version of the more typically found pedestal desk, with some form of an arrangement of drawers around a central set recessed cupboard being the form which one can expect to come across. There are of course various different designs to be found along the same theme, but as a general rule that is the form you will usually find in a georgian kneehole desk...

Georgian Mahogany Circular Wine Table
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A Very Good Quality Late 18th Century, George III Period, Mahogany Wine Table, Having Well Figured Circular Tilting Top Retaining Untouched Colour And Patina With Strung Decoration, Over Elegant Baluster Turned Column With Umbrella Tripod Legs.
A simple, elegant and beautiful little table, which is also incredibly functional, this is of relatively typical design for the late 18th century georgian period.
Boasting rich, dense, mahogany timbers, alongside a good untouched colour and patina, in combination with the subtle strung inlaid decoration to the edge of the top it has a real touch of class and exudes elegance.
The perfect size for an absolute host of spaces around the home, it is both beautiful and practical. It would work just as well alongside a sofa or library chair in the living room to place a drinks glass on top of, as it would in the drawing room with a lamp perched atop, or even in the bedroom as a bedside table.
As with all our items this table has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture...

Small Georgian Mahogany Butlers Tray on Stand
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A Good Quality And Unusually Small Georgian Mahogany Butlers Tray, Of Diminutive Proportion, Having Elegant Shaped Sides With Pierced Carrying Handles And Well Figured Top, Housed On Later Square Chamfered Leg Mahogany Stand.
During the 18th and 19th centuries a coffee table was not what we regard as a coffee table in the 21st century. Coffee tables back then were always full height, effectively side tables. The modern, low, coffee table is really something which began to be seen during the early 20th century onwards.
Based on the above there is a variety of different methods to incorporate a coffee table into an interior for people who wish to furnish their properties with genuine antique furniture, whilst still allowing for the practicalities and function which is required in modern times.
Therefore it is now incredibly common to find 18th and 19th century trays of varying shape, size and design utilised as coffee tables. As with all the others that we have seen this particular tray has been fitted onto a low, practical and sturdy stand constructed from old antique wood. It’s worth noting that generally this means an old broken table...

Georgian Mahogany Oval Butlers Tray on Stand
Located in Bedfordshire, GB
A very good quality late 18th century, Georgian period, mahogany oval butlers tray of Panelled design, retaining original brass hinges to folding sides with pierced carrying handles, raised on later square leg mahogany stand.
Therefore as is now normal with by far the majority of these butlers trays which we see, due to the fact they make absolutely perfect coffee tables, this has been removed from its original, tall, folding stand at some point and fitted onto a lower, more practical and sturdy stand constructed from old antique wood. It’s worth noting that generally this means an old broken table...
