Cobalt Blue Majolica Vase Vessel Ceramic Centrepiece Sculpture Handmade, Italy

About the Item

The "ABISSO" vase, inspired by the great depths of the ocean, is handmade and hand-painted in Deruta, Italy. The special colouring technique makes each piece unique, with always different shades. The applications that recall the air bubbles rising from the depths of the abyss are irregular, revealing the handprints of the artist who forged the vase. Even the surface of the artwork has light furrows, evidence of the fact that it was turned by hand. The intense blue, almost magnetic to the eye, gives the work a remarkable aesthetic impact and a strong character. The highly glossy finish is alternated with more material effects on the upper edge. Dimension: D36 x H50 cm (D14.2 x H19.7 in ) Colour: Persian Blue Visit our 1stDibs storefront to discover the whole deBlona collection. The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona''s essence is represented by the interpretation of the colour and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
