About the Item
Graphically striking and boldly painted in a rich palette of purples, blues and oranges, this high style Art Deco painting by M. H. Forster depicts a female figure with curling tendrils of hair, her face upturned to a cluster of grapes overhead. The background is wonderfully abstract, with the hint of a burning sun overhead, though the figure is draped in rich nocturnal colors. Forster painted this piece in gouache on board. (Dimensions include full width and height of board.)
