About the Item

A Nice Art Deco ball cap with silver lace net, signed Maison Carlier and dating from the Twenties. The bell-shaped headpiece has a silver lace bottom embellished with interlacing embroidery of spun and curled silver blades. The capote, which has retained its glitter, is trimmed around the edges with silver trimmings in the shape of drops underlined by matching charm tassels. On the inside, cream silk tulle around the head and a woven silk claw indicating Maison Carlier. A few tassels and drops are missing, but the silver fishnet is in good structural condition.
Dimensions: Head circumference 63 cm, skullcap diameter 42 cm.
