Turn of the century Oscar de la Renta gently padded black silk paper taffeta coat in a vertical band design of irregular horizontal Fortuny-inspired pleats, alternating with boxed pinch pleats and miniature horizontal knife pleats, overlaid with a black stylized chain stitch trim with miniature baubles, with set-in shaped sleeves, the black wool crepe Peter Pan collar appliquéd with a miniature scalloped cord trim in an oval arrangement, and complementing front panels, finished throughout with a black satin ruched ribbon with asymmetric multiple layers at cuffs, and concealed front zipper fully lined in self.
