About the Item

This 1980's Jerri Sherman two piece light taupe silk dress ensemble is loaded with femininity and unexpected details. The top has a double row of small buttons with a mandarin style collar, bib and sleeve cuffs decorated with cut outs and appliques in shades of ivory white and pale aqua blue. The sash belt is also decorated with appliques and covers the waistband of the separate skirt which buttons at the side and features side pockets. The top is reminiscent of Victorian era blouses but the strong shoulders emphasized by pads says '80's all the way. Good condition with a couple of issues to mention. There is a small dark spot 5.5" down from the collar between two buttons shown in photograph 12. There is a yellowish discoloration at the front of the blouse near the waist which cannot be seen when the blouse is tucked in and blousoned though shown in photograph 13. The dress has been professionally cleaned and is ready for wear. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS Marked a size 8 though it the ensemble best fits a modern size 4 - 6 with attention to the following measurements. For a visual reference, the mannequin is a size 4 and the skirt was a little large in the waist. TOP (Should Have a 'Blousy' Fit Bust 43" Waist 41" Hips 42" Sleeve Length From Underarm to Cuff 10" Approximate Shoulder Length Taken Across Back 16" Length From Shoulder to Hem 25" SKIRT Waist 28" Full Hips 48" Length From Waist to Hem 28.5" The sash belt measures 51" from end to end x 1.75" wide.
